Talking Bazooka's

I know, I,know.
Has anyone considered or have already tried using Bazooka's in their trunks?

Believe me I cringe at the thought myself. I used to run 2 JL10w5's powered by a Pheonix Gold Amp in my previous car.

I'm just looking for a solid hitting bottom end for the sound. I don't want to turn the trunk into a system display case, like my previous car. I'm keeping the car stock as possible.

The other consideration was putting the sub in the spare tire space but I want to keep that too.

Any suggestions on small enclosures with decent performance. I'll amping the box too.

btw, pro audio shops suggestions in the Bay Area would help too.

i had a bazooka 2 years ago. if i remember, their tones are really monotonous. meaning that their just one deep tone and it got annoying after awhile. it didn't really compliment the music as much as it gave me a headache. maybe the newer ones are different. but i'd recommend going with one sub, like a 10" to satisfy your needs.

Thumbs up

Yeah I'd go with the 10's. My box is custom formed using cascade matting and fiberglass to my spare tire well over my spare tire. I have access to my spare tire, as well as my 10 in subs. The amps are mounted both under the seats and under the rear decklid. Therefore keeping the stock look once everything is taken out, and i have my spare tire.

Oh i forgot about shops in the bay area, there is a sweet on El Camino Real. I can't remember their name, but they sell Zapco amps and PPI and Boston Acoustics. I'll get back to you with the name in a day or so...
