Basslink question...

I just installed an InfinityAudio Basslink, with a 8guage lead from the battery, and spliced into the Rear Speakers with the provided speaker cable.

I didn't install a Remote Turn-on because I thought it had a sound signal sensor to automatically turn on. Does anyone know if this is the case? And/Or - Are there any advantages to having the remote turn-on hooked up?

Silver Knight wrote a pretty good install thread that I found while searching, the only problem was the hosted picture of the HELMS manual wasn't coming up, and its hard to figure out which cable is the remote on the factory amp.

Any help you guys can offer is greatly apprecaited.

Got it to turn on, Now its not turning off

Post Update:

Ok, I found the switch that sets the Basslink to remote turn on. Now I got it to turn on, when I turn the stereo off and even turn the car off the red power light remains on.

I'm worried about power drain, so I'm trying to figure out if this light is a standard standby or is something else.

Also, does anyone know some good settings for the Basslink in our cars ('02 CLS)? There are several settings, and I'm not quite sure what is best for good bass.

Thanks again.

Figured it out...sorry to take up forum space

Ok, as usual I had to sit and do some more homework before I figured out the issue.

I found that the Basslink, when not using a remote signal wire, takes 5-10 minutes to the shut power led off. So its normal operation. I have also learned how to tune it with the manual and some testing.

Again, I appologize for self-threading a fairly easy issue. There was someone who posted that they wanted to hear a basslink in Austin, if you want, I can meet you somewhere.
