Basslink
Basslink
I bought a basslink off of ebay.213 shipped. It said it comes witha free remote level control. Is this remote control wireless?? Does it look like a tv remote?
Reason I ask is because the basslink arrived yesterday and I see nothing that resembles a remote unless its the litte knob thing you adjust up and down. Is that it?? thanks for the help guys---newbie

The small box with the knob on it is the remote gain control. It is not wireless. Use the telephone cord supplied to connect the remote to the amp.
I just installed the Basslink and it does a nice job compensating for weak bass from the stock system. Some installation tips that may help you. You do not need to use the low level inputs (RCA connectors). Just tap into the rear speakers with the cable provided. You will need to run power from the battery... I suggest #10, and also add an in line fuse.
Physical instalation is pretty easy. I put mine behind the rear seat on the left side, mounted vertically. Be careful with long screws as the gas tank is in that vicinity. I slid a 1/2 inch piece of wood under the carpet and screwed the unit to the wood only. I then used one of the horizontal mount brachets and attached the top of the unit to the frame. This make for a solid mount with no movement.
If you like, send me a PM with you email address and I will send you pics (I have no place to host).

Well thanks david.(goredcar) I installed my basslink sunday afternoon. I think i need to check my connections.I'm not noticing a whole lot of difference. At least no what I was expecting,of course I dont have a line level fuse(I have it rigged at the moment with a 20 amp fuse)and I havent hooked up the remote wire.Which wire is the remote wire on the factory head unit? Other than that the install was easy. Even running the wires was easy. Thanks again for the help david
