Ever since I put in my eclipse cd8443 there is a heavy 'thump' noise whenever I turn on the stereo. It only happens if it starts up to the cd player, not when its on am/fm.

It sounds like the amp just sends a surge of power into the sub... I don't know why that would happen in the first place, but makes even less sense that its only with the cd player not the radio.

I had a different deck in before and did not have this problem. Think there is a chance the eclipse is busted?

Any ideas?

Prob just a design flaw, sounds like a pulse of DC slips out the pre-amp outs. You can buy a lil unit that will delay the turn on of your amp for a few seconds that will keep it from happening.
