Avic N1, N2 nav/video lockout info

I read here that the Pioneer Avic-N2 has a jumper to fix this problem.

BUT, What about the N1? Did anyone take theirs apart to see if the jumper is there?
Has anyone made a hybrid N1/N2 DVD that gives you the new maps but not the new lockout?

I really need the updates for my N1, but I need the ability for my passenger to enter destinations while we are moving.

Welcome!

I'm pretty sure there is a thread discussing this topic, have you tried a search? I think the original poster was Tyzing, if I am not mistaken

Is there a jumper under the cover of the N1, and/or has anyone made a hybrid n1/n2 dvd for the n1 yet?

Sorry, I thought it was worth starting a new thread, because the other thread is filled with alot of theories, just a couple solutions, none of which answers this question that I and I am sure many other owners of N1s have.
