Audiobahn Alum12Q Subs

Hi,

Does any one have any comments about the 'Audiobahn Alum12Q' subs? I'm planning on getting 2 of these for my car. One more thing what kind of sub would I need to run these babies. Each sub is rated at 1000RMS and dual 6ohm impedance (whatever that means)...Hopefully i'll get these within the next month or so....

They're pretty cheap on Ebay however shipping is like $80-90 to Canada. This excludes any customs cost if associated...

Is there any one from Canada who has bought anything from the States through Ebay here? if so could you possibly provide me with some info as to wether there were any customs cost or anything...... thanks

Audiobahn makes some of the shittiest (for lack of a better word; sorry) car audio products out there. Sorry if I'm scaring you: just giving my .02.

Rockford Fosgate makes some decent subwoofers, but they're usually a bit overpriced. You can find some Kicker L7's online for $200 shipped. I don't know if you prefer to buy locally or thats to expensive for you, but the L7 gets very loud. (Not the best sound quality, however) Some other subs I'd recommend are:

PowerBass XS12" $189.00+Shipping Here

Resonant Engineering SE12" $169.00+Shipping Here

Infinty Kappa Perfect 12.1 $180.00+Shipping Here

Image Dynamics IDQ12" $170.00+Shipping Here

Theres a few more out there I could suggest getting but these four I remembered off the top of my head. I found these prices as quick as possible so if you do some research and look around, I'm sure you can find some better prices.

Thanks, the cheapest i've found the Audiobahns for is $190 + $90 s/h so thats $280 (doesnt sound much but once you convert that to C$ its like $370). Then I still have the amp to get.

All of the subs I listed above will absolutely destroy that Audiobahn in both output and sound quality. (They'll be right around the same price after shipping, too) As far as an amp goes, look into a Hifonics Brutus BX1500d, Concept 2400A or a Crossfire BMF1000D.

All of those subs will put out their rated power and can be had for cheap. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Exactly what are you basing this on? You can do alot worse than Audiobahn.

very true, Some of Audiobahn's "higher end" stuff is pretty good. I mean look at the basic Kicker Competition sub...you get what you pay for thats for sure.

The Alum12Q is the higher end stuff they are only cheap on ebay (they still cost less to by on ebay including the shipping than here in Canada).

Audiobahn does make some very good stuff. With the right install, it can work downright awesome. And even know I am not a huge fan of it, they are some of the best looking subs and amps out. When someone says "some of the sh#$% stuff out", I have to disagree. Go to your local fleemarket and find the guys selling a pair of 12" subs with a box and a "1,000 watt" amp for $100 total, then let's talk about the worst stuff out there.

My mistake.

For the money, Audiobahn makes some of the shittiest car audio products out there. You can do a lot worse only when you're looking at a sub $150 bucks cheaper than theirs. Until you compare an Audiobahn sub to something like I listed above, you'll think it sounds decent...afterwards, you'll think it sounds like complete shit.
