audio questions
I am the 3rd owner of 03 acura tl type s. My battery died and now need the code for the radio to work. There is no card in the car local acura dealer tells me they can't find the code without me bringing the car in. We are still searching the car in hopes to find the code. I'm wondering if I install and aftermarket stereo will the volume controls on the steering wheel still work? Also since there are only numbers 1-6 will the code ever have a zero and if so how would you enter that? We found one sticker with five digits but it has zeros and a 7 in it. Can someone please help?
There is a sticker on the right front side of the radio. Take out the right wood trim to see it. If its not there, then it's probably somewhere else on the case of the radio and you need to remove it. With the number on this sticker, the dealer can punch it into his computer system and reference your radio code. My dealer did this for me at no charge. Some are known to charge you up to $100 for this 1 minute look up.
Just call a Local HONDA Dealer tell them whats going on and say you cant drive that far (Even if its Close) If your lucky they will just ask for your VIN and will give you a Reset Code I did that and it Worked like a Charm...
For Steering Wheel Remote you will need an Accesory like SWI-Jack or Axxess to Regain Steering Wheel Controls with an Aftermarket Radio.

Don't know if you found the solution to this yet but the radio code is in the Acura QuickStart hand book in the black leather pouch the owners manual is in. And btw aftermarket speakers do not stop the audio controls on the steering wheele to fail.
