Does anyone know of a good car audio store in the Cincinnati/Columbus/Indy area?

Yeah, that was a given. I can see it now. Bring in a set of Focals and they suggest I upgrade to Sony's.

but all kidding aside, i am not sure if there are many members that will be in your exact area... what i would do is either try to install it yourself if possible, or ask some people... when i first moved to dallas and didn't know the area, i just asked a few strangers about their tint jobs, etc... and they directed me... i would even go to a few car shows to see their work and go from there, but they may be a little more expensive...

Well i dont like to skimp. Its also important that everything is installed clean. I could handle the speakers but wiring the amps and all that crap I would rather have someone else do.

Car Stereo Shop - Cincinnati

A mechanic at the nearby Columbia Acura (dealer) recommended...

Carl's Stereo On Wheels
8175 Hetz Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45242
(513) 469-2111

...saying he'd seen nice, clean work they had done. I went to see them about an iPod hook-up a year or so ago and they seemed like a nice shop. They could only replace my entire system and weren't an Alpine dealer. They did give me the name of an Alpine dealer, seeming capable and confident in their business.

I haven't had them do any work for me and am not connected with them in any way.

They are located on the NE edge of Cincinnati, one exit east of the interchange of I-71 and I-275 just off Montgomery Rd. (The Montgomery Rd. area is one of the higher-rent districts in Cincinnati, and Carl's appears well-established and well run.)

For a demographic reference, see the (cool) nearby home entertainment store, Alamo Electronics: http://www.alamoelectronics.com/ (It doesn't look like Alamo does car stereos.)

Hey! See http://www.me-mag.com/TopRetailersInstallers.aspx, Carl's got press - "Mobile Electronics magazine is proud to present the Top 50 Retailers and Top 100 Installers for 2005-2006, as selected by our industry's independent rep firms and direct sales personnel from vendors."

Hey I live in Columbus OH. A good place to get installed is Columbus Car Audio or Sound Investments, Mobile Electronics on Morse Rd does a real good job too. To be real self install is the best. I do all my installations and a great job at that. If you need help and would like some assistance please don't hesitate to ask me. My name is JD. I have a degree in Electronic Engineering and did installs all through highschool and I still do car audio installations on the side.
