I got quoted $1500 to make a box with 2 10W6v2s...face them in the car with the slot port blowing in through the ski hole.....mirror the inside with a bunch of blue LEDs.....is that too much for that kind of box? He would charge me $2800 to do the box....finish off the rest of the trunk and the price includes the 2 subs.

Does that $1500 include the subs? Even if it does, $1500 is a bit steep in my book.

Never mind....that doesn't include the subs....Thats because he said he uses a mirror laminant for the inside of the box ($150)...the Lexan ($350) and 15-20 hours of labor.

LOL, now we charge a good amount, but honestly, we'd build that same enclosure for about 1/2 that price.

Yeah, defintely check out some other shops. Ask around your buddies and see what shops they recommend and drop them a line. I'm almost positive you can reduce that price a great amount. Just take some time & research, and you'll save alot of $$$

should check out music in motion as well....its down in south suburbs they do some very good installations. oh, and i figured out why my w7's werent hitting right....only one of the amps that i bought was working...well at least fully.....i think its hitting about 25%. thats what i get for getting shit on the streets. altho, i only spent $400 for what i wouldve bought retail for $1200, so i cant complain just need to get it fixed now...at least one of the SLAP cars i know was done at music in motion that 4 13.5 w7 is listed on their website grand am or something i think..they are expensive as well, but might be better than that place.

Only about 40 minutes away, not far. Also, if you are hesitant to have something built out there, we can build you this enclosure and ship it. We just did a trunk for someone in Baton Rouge, LA and shipped it to them. Up to you

So then...you've done a ton of CLs....What would you charge to make a box (maybe some 10W6v2s) That has a plexiglass rear panel and make the inside of the box painted or mirrored. I want the box to fit under the rear deck....kinda like Ernie's CL. HOW MUCH $$$$$??

Wow...Thats good to know. I'm assuming it arrived undamaged? Was it assembled? What vehicle was it for and what was the setup? How much was shipping?

Thanks, J.T.

We built a custom floor with full access to the spare tire, a box for 2 12" JL10W3V2 subs, backlit plexi ampracks for a Diamond Audio and JL amplifier. You'll see in the pics the neons for the amp racks....the amps sit on standoffs that will block the neon and just show the edge of the plexi glowing.

All holes are predrilled for simple installation. All the custom has to do is set it in the car and screw it all together in the marked spots.

Here's a link to some pics of it:

Ron,
That's so nice. Simple looking but very clean.

Did you have the design copyrighted? Could I steal the idea for my next setup

That setup, as you see it with the floor, box, two amp racks, plexi glass, neon lighting, etc etc was about $1250 SHIPPED. The shipping on it was $250 by itself, so the trunk was $1000.

this is the box.. ( pre paint of course, we are going with a grapthite with metalic flake in it)we decided to change the design a bit and now the amps wil lappear to float on aluminum racks, and there will be some additional plexi work, should be finished in 3 weeks or so. luckily the client is working on the project and we are only putting like 3 hours a day into it total and changing our minds a lot.
