hey pianoman since your the guy that came up with the idea on how to run the fogs w only the parking lights out maybe u can help me with this. OK why is it that when i leave my lifhts on and i lock the car then i press the lock button one more time my passenger side h.i.d light flicker and my drivers side light does a complete flash....im kinda wanting to remove the splicer just incase this might cause an unforseen problem in the future.. Thanks... is there any prrof that this setup wont harm the cars electrical system...

 

This has been brought up in the past. Originally, it was suggested that the fog light mod may be causing this phenomenon. One solution was to cut the middle wire on the fog light switch (I think it is red/white) after the splicer to completely separate the fogs from the HIDs. However, it has since been discovered that cars *without* the fog light mod will also exhibit this same behavior. It only happens if you leave your headlights on when you shut the car off. When it goes to arm, the parking lights flash quickly. But because the headlights were left on, when the parking lights come on, the HIDs also try and come on. No one seems to know why only the passenger side does it, and why it is a flicker (it is believed that the quick flash isn't fast enough for the light to come on fully).

So the short answer is, the fog light mod does not cause this. There are several members over at the a c u r a w o r l d . c o m site that do not have the fog light mod done and their cars do this. I never leave the lights on when I get out of the car so I've never experienced it.
