Hello all.

I have a 99 TL with the hard drive Navi and have recently gotten the DVD from the DVD based system. After looking at the DVD, I notice there do not seem to be any files outside the data folders, while the hard drive has files outside folders including what appears to be a boot-up routine.

Here is my question...

Does anyone here know anything about the flash chips in either system and how they affect the boot routines and if copying the DVD based system to a 5GB PC Card hard drive along with adding the hard drive based boot files would unleash the whol country on hard drive?

I have an external pc-card 8 Gig hard drive costing less than $70.00 shipped. I am trying to find the DVD Navigation files, copy all files to the hard drive to see it will work. If you are willing to upload to my FTP site please PM me at 11749@optonline.net.
