ASAP.....need help wiring up head unit

I'm installing an aftermarket head unit, hooked up the head unit and tested out the radio, its turning on but there is no sound, even tried a using a cd. I tried searching to see what the problem is , perhaps to bypass the bose amp.

I'm going to be hooking up an amp with two subs, the car is a 2003 cl.

PLEASE HELP , installing as we speak.

From the looks of it I have to bypass the bose amp , but I didnt have enough time as I was at a friends shop. Ending up putting the stock head unit back, till I can find out for sure.

Anybody have the wiring diagram needed to bypass the amp, the search revealed links but they were all dead, and this what I need to do?

After doing a little more research I find I can get an LOC, however still have a couple questions.

There have been threads with people replacing the head unit , keeping the stock speakers and having them blow out later, can anybody confirm this. The LOC seems like a good idea, so I will be looking into getting one tomm.

Still curious if people have successfully bypassed the bose amp and could provide a wiring diagram and what needs to be done.

i have a jvc kdhd-r1 head with all stock speakers and a 10" infinity sub.....what you need is the right harness..... i had the same problem as you. check to see if your harness has the royal blue colored remote lead wire on it. i had a harness that didnt and didnt notice it. bought another one with the blue wire on it and booyakashaw i got sound.

the stock speakers are pretty good, just tune ur head right(dont send to much bass to em) and you shouldnt blow anything. o and i took the 6x9's out so i cant vouch for those...

BIGBOOMER77,
So want your saying is that the blue wire from the Aftermarket wiring harness needs to be connected to the power antenna wire coming off the stock harness. Is that the on/off for the amp in the trunk?

I had the same problem too, and I too figured out that the remote turn on wire (Blue one) was not connected correctly.

On a side note - to add on and maybe get some help myself - after I installed my new head unit my turn by turn voice for the NAV stopped working - how can I get her back?

should just be blue to blue.... i think remote antenna and remote lead might be the same if i remember correctly.... like on color coode legends it says "power antenna/remote amp lead" or something like that.

Hey guys, i just joined this forum. I just got a 2003 cls with nav and onstar under a month ago.
I actually work for a company that makes interfaces for cars with this type of problems. We actually dont make anything for this vehicle...but i just got my hands on detailed schematics for the 01-03 audio, nav, and onstar. Im hoping to be able to rip that crap Bose and onstar system out and still have audio from the nav and a standalone bluetooth. I might put some type of kits together. The electrical for nav on the car is different to nav with onstar. But if your just trying to get your radio hooked up with the factory Bose amp...Use Metra harness#70-1725. It will use the factory system using your radios rca output. Good Luck.
