I ordered a metra kit from circuit city (for $33, not $15 like everyone on here seemed to get it for) back in august. Its been 8 weeks, I still dont have it. I called a couple of weeks ago, the guy said that the distributor claimed to have shipped it but he said it never arrived, and that he would fax them in an order again to try and get them to resend it. Is there anywhere else I can buy one? at this point I just want to get my money back and get my kit already.

Go to www.partsexpress.com and call their 800 number. I got mine for $22+shipping. My local Circuit City and Best Buy told me that they couldn't even get it. Funny that they are both Metra dealers.

I haven't received the kit yet and it's been about 10 days. It is a special order item and I was told may take up to three weeks to get. I've ordered a LOT of stuff from partsexpress and am very happy with their service.

It may be worth a shot for you.

of course the day after I posted this my kit finally arrived at circuity city - only took 2 months! do I need to get a wire kit too?

Depends on your plans for the system. Fill us in on the details and we'll help in any way that we can. If you're looking to keep your stock speakers/sub/amps...........you're probably going to be on your own. Crap, crap, and more crap. Sorry, but that is how it is.

Let us know what your plans for your system is and maybe we can steer you in a direction that makes you happier!

Im planning for now on just keeping the stock speakers in the car, along with my aftermarket sub + amp that are already in the car. I realize I'm going to lose the bose sub but I think it rattles too much anyway - good riddance. So is a wire kit something I'd need? I eventually want to get aftermarket speakers and another amp, but for now I'm stick with the b(l)ose.

Contact Metra directly, tell them you are getting shabby customer service for their product and you would like to know all of their suppliers in your area. Metra would be happy to get feedback from a future customer and more importantly get feedback of the crappy srevice from circuit city. You might even be able to get one shipped through the person you contact at Metra. I find the large companies will always bend the rules if you are courteous on the phone. Good Luck
