anyone installed DLS UP6 in 2nd gen CL?

Just wondering what to expect of the tweeter install. would I need to modify the mirror sail panels to fit them? Speakers should arrive any day now and I want to do the install pretty much immediately however not sure what to expect. Any help would be appreciated.

Magnet size : 28 mm (1,1")
Outer diameter : 60 mm (2,36")*
Installation depth : 18 mm ( 0,71")*
Mounting hole (recessed mounting) : 48 mm (1,89")*

Looks like you may have to modify the sails a bit. But you probably won't be sure until you try.

We've installed them. You do have to mod the sails slightly. I can't remember, but I might have glued the grille cloth cover on after.

Eldude, how much power should I be feeding the UP6s ? I have an Alpine MRV-F540 which puts put about 80wrms per channel at 4 ohm. I was told by a local recommended shop that my amp would be great match for the speakers.

The install was quite painfull by the way. it's not a problem to fit the tweeter in the housing but to fit the damn cover was a bitch. I thought woofers won't be a problem from the beginning but then I realised that woofers don't fit those plastic spacers very well. Luckily my friend bought a bunch of powermat so I put it around in 3 layers until there was no gap anymore and then put a piece of powermat around the speaker hole as well. So I think that worked out well.

Hey, I'm a pro That's why they call it work...

We make our own spacers or mod the OEM ones with an air-powered hacksaw - without that, making your own was probably easier.

I run the UP6 in our TSX off of a 70wpc amp and it sounds great. There are a lot of people on the net wraning aobut underpowering, but it's rarely an issue except for speaks like Dynes or such. I've run those on 50w and had them sound great.

Glad you like them. They are great speaks, aren't they?

By the way, everybody, we have been authorized by DLS to start offering their products via a web store, and we will be offering Acurazine discounts! Should be more info in a few days...
