Looks like a good speaker for the front of the TSX

i've but the the 177's in a few cars (including my tl at one point) and they sounded good. THe tweet was nice and warm without being being overtly harsh. The woofer was clean and was abale to provide pretty good midbass when decent power was applied. I'm not real sure if there would be much if any dropoff in performance in the 136, but at that price i would atleast entertain the idea.

 

Yeah, I think these 5.25"s might be more cost effective than the 6.5" type Rs. Any have experience with the 136's??

 

I have these currently installed in my 99 TL. I love them, but like everyones desire to have something better, I stepped up to the Type X line. Was going to install them today, but girlfriend would shoot me if I dont spend time with her

But seriously, I like them very much. If I didnt get a good deal on the Type X ones, I would definately stay with the Type R's.

if i was you ... i'd go with the newer type R .. the new type R's Tune chamber for their tweeter are similiarly designed like the SPX-F13M/SPX-F17M .. which Eld has and higly praises.

If not .. go with the ntw Type X .. not the F1 status tho .. those are bank!
