Anyone have problems playing CDR's in their car?
I have had the worst luck with CDR's and playing them in my ride. Have switched brands but still to no avail. Any advice........... besides stop being an internet pirate.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have a small issue with my CD-Rs, Hitachi's, where the disc will not read unless the 1st track is skipped. After that, everything works fine. It's probably just the disc, other cd-r brands work perfectly in the car.

If all fine, your TSX reader might be zonked. Does it work on all stamped CDs?
I might have a similar problem. For the first few months, I had no problems at all with CD-Rs. But a few months ago, the player would sometimes display disc error while trying to change tracks. Also, I found that after 15-20 minutes of playing, it would have a hard time seeking tracks on CD-Rs - I could hear the motor moving the head back and forth searching for the start of the next track. At its worst, it would lose the track right in the middle of playback. Note that these are the same CD-Rs that worked fine one week and didn't the next. I've also tried different media and even recorders, but the same result. I even have one disc that was freshly burned and plays perfectly on my PC and home systems, but my TSX player can't seek tracks on it at all.
When it's misbehaving it can still play pressed CDs, but it still has a hard time seeking to the start of the tracks. It eventually does get it, but I don't think it should be this way in the first place.
I've been tempted to have it replaced under warranty, but am afraid of the potential consequences of having them rip apart my center stack...

Lately, I've been using Windows Media Player to burn Mp3s on all kinds of media, with no problems...
I have a collection of CD-Rs and I used to have all kinds of problems playing them on my Accord, some more than others. When I put them in my TSX, I have no problem at all, zero. So clearly the CD player in the TSX is pretty good.
I'd say get a new CD burner. I have all kinds of brands playing without any issues, but as burners get old they do get worse. And don't use your new burner to read CDs much, just use another drive to read them so that you don't use your burner more than you have to.
