Hey, I've got a guy who competes in national bass/sound comps. and he said he'd do a box for me. Im really needing ideas on what to do. Does anyone here with a 1st gen have a custom sub box enclosure? Can anyone help me think of a cool design to do??

As a guy who builds boxes (wood and glass), I'd respectfully suggest that you let HIM be the idea guy. You just decide which of his ideas you will go with.

 

To me a cool design is one that takes as little trunk space as possible. Search my olds posts for pics of my glass project for a 2nd gen TL.

if u search on the TL boards, in the audio/bluetooth/navi section, there are some pretty cool custom trunk ideas, are you looking for COMPETING CUSTOM? or just a simple type of enclosure that flushes with the car

 

No i wont be competing. My installer and I threw down some ideas. He wants it ported where the port goes through the back seat cubby slot. I want some mirrors, plexi, a hidden compartment, and maybe an ACURA decal sign somewhere. I basically just want to look at peoples custom installs to get ideas for mine. He and I already threw around some ideas, but i need to come up with a few and sketch them out for him. Were no doing anything too crazy like fiberglass, but we are doing wood, glass and mirrors. I just need some ideas so i can design up my own box so he can build it.

 

I found a picture of the box you built, but I never found a picture of everything installed in your car. I take it you went for something suddle which I like.



I dont know if you all really understand what im talking about. Im talking about custom sub boxs w/ a custom trunk. Im talking about show quality, removing the spare tire, taking up almost the whole trunk with a complete custom built frame, mirrors, plexi, neons....everything.....This is the whole reason I need ideas because im still trying to decide if i want to take up the whole trunk of not.
(one idea i had was to split the trunk down the middle with "open trunk space" on each side. This way, the sub box would go from the back seat to the front of the trunk. Im also thinking about a floating amp rack, and mostly mirror & black/silver vinal/leather w/ blue neons

I guess i need to go to a grocery store and look through all the car mags to get ideas...

 

I have noo idea what/where your talking about. The Audio/Video sections are the same for every model on Acurazine....do u have a link u could post?
