Is anybody using Nakamichi
Has anybody replaced the Bose HU with a Nakamichi system. I thinking of doing a double DIN setup with the CD-45z HU (20 bit DAC) and the MB-70 6 disk (no cartridge) in dash changer. Would also get the DAC-41, 20 bit digital to analog convertor for the changer. I have already added a Rockford Fosgate 600a4 amp and replaced the speakers with MB Quart PKC116 and PKC113 reference premium coaxials. Thought I could get away with using the factory head unit but decided I need to upgrade to take full advantage of the speakers.

I think this is what he is proposing...
Alot of cash and not flashy, I think it would be great in the TL if you're going for a more conservative look. I hear its high quality stuff too.

oh wow. i found naks web site, great looking stuff. ive been looking all over for factory looking hu's. i hate all those flashy colors on most head units.
would my alpine trunk changer work with any of those hu's?
how much does that hu cost alone? not the changer

Mr TL, I don't know if the Nak HU would work with your Alpine changer or not. The MSRP is $449 for the HU, my local dealer will sell it through the end of the month for $409 installed. I've seen it on the net for 350-360 but then you still have installation and don't get the 3 year warranty. Nakamichi's site has a dealer search to locate a dealer in your area.

As for the subwoofer, right now I'm still using the factory sub. I use the trunk alot and don't want a big box taking up the space.
I'm thinking of going with the Infinity Basslink, it's only 14x12x8, 10" sub, 10" passive radiator, and 200W amp.

im pretty sure my changer wont work with it
i just wonder if their hu's are any better than similarely priced alpine units. there are some decent looking alpine ones too.

the mb 75 is the only one id be interested in.
this company is really 'playing' the customer. in order to get a good setup, you have to take the most expensive route, which is what you are proposing 99wdp
i like everything about the md75, but it only has 2v outputs
the cd 40/35 is nice, but it doesnt have changer controls
im not considering those hus with enternal amps
today i got a price on the mb 75, 899 if i recall correctly? cnd. im not sure. for that price i can get an alpine hu with 4v 3 preouts....even a 2 din
