Anybody like JL audio subs?

Are these good quality?

What is the big difference between W3s and W6s?

I have the 12W3-D4. My field is not car audio, so I don't know the difference between the W3 and the W6. I can say that my W3 is a very good sub, though. I have one 12" connected to a 250 watt RockfordFosgate amp and it delivers plenty of clear bass. I examined the sub before I had it put in; and compared to other subs I've seen in the past, the JL Audio sub is very good quality. I recommend it from my own experience with it.

i just installed my subs a week ago... 2 12w3 d4 with 500watts going into them, they are in a undersized box...they still pound pretty hard....need to polyfill asap

I got 3 10" JL 10w3 subs. They pound pretty good. I got about 600 watts to them.

I love JL subs. I have ran many set ups and not one has been a disappointment. The following are the set ups...3-8w6's, 2-10w1, 4-10w1, 2-15w1, 1-15w6, 1-12w3, 2-12w3.

Looks like its just wattage. Although the power handling differences between the two is pretty small.

my friends friend has a tl with 3 jl 12's it had so much bass i wanted to get out of the car

yes their good subs.
the diff. is the ohms you get wiring them differently. meaning you have to know what amp your running then figure out how much room you want to dedicate for sub(s). 1,2 or 3 subs.

I really like JL Audio subs. Had Rockford subs before but they didn't last that long.

JLs are made to play in smaller enclosures which is a plus. The difference between the W3 and W6 is the power handling, ohms and sound. The W6 has a bigger magnet which when hooked up to a capable amp will equate to better bass.

They rock. I had a single 10w6 in the trunk of my '97 Maxima SE hooked driven by a Kenwood mono sub amp. Very tight and will give you great lows to fill out the system. And if pounding is your thing, these things can pound.

JLs

They are good and cheap. You will be happy with them. They are also very common but if you want to go more unique then it will cost you more $$$.

There are very good subs out there that take out JLs in depth and clarity and are less common.

If you don't care about that, then JLs are the best bang for the buck (assuming you know where to buy). Again, you will be happy with them. I promise. Good luck!

I just put in a JL 12W3 tonight with a Kenwood Excelon KAC-X301T 300W/400W And it sounds incredible!!!! Tight, clean, and pounds like a jackhammer in you brain I love it !! Wooooooohoooooooo

i got my 2 10 w3's installed in june, and they sound great. got the rockford 500.2 powering them. a lot of bass for just 2 10's, and its clean and tight bass too. i might get more for my audi at school

I have 1 JL 12w6 subwoofer...and it pounds like crazy...I used to have 2 10" RF subs powered by RF amp..and the 1 JL will blow it away...
