any one who has installed a double dine like this?

i bought a used double din to fit my avic d3 for now. it is just a piece of wood so there are no tabs to screw it into the dash. how would one go about attaching it? the only thing i can think of is double stick tape?

just curious if any one has installed one like this before and how i would go about installing it. I originally thought the unit slid into it and the trim ring on the unit held it to the dash, but I was wrong.

this is the kit from what i searched on the forum.

any insight would be very helpful

another pic i found.

the d3 fits nicely inside the opening, but since the face doesn't move like the others it sits recessed more than the others.

no idea who made these but if any one knows let me know. curious how the units mount with out the tray above the unit.
