antenna wire for radio
I installed a new ipod/aux adapter in my '00 tl this weekend and after everything was said and done i turned on my radio and there was static.....so after trying to squeeze my hand behind the radio to see if i forgot to plug in the antenna for an hour i decided to take the center console apart _again_. To my surprise it was still plugged in.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram so i can trace this wire back to see what happened? Or, unless you know what else it could be. thanks

anyone? Do we have an amplified antenna on the 2nd gen's?
I have the HELMS manual but it doesn't show me the route the antenna wire takes to get to the back window. I was looking behind the dash but i couldn't follow it and hoped it didn't possible get crimped when i put the center console back.

well i figured out what it was....apparently the antenna wire got pinched when the center console was re-installed. So much for the clips holding it in place
I have to order a new antenna cable tomorrow and swap it out...what a PITA. Runs from the radio, via the center console to the back seats under the carpet, under back seat bottom, behind back seat top, then up pillar on the passenger side, then remove the headliner and plugged into that little box at the top of the rear window.

Same thing's going on with my girlfriend's car right now. She has an 01 CL and recently had the shift console cover replaced and started complaining about hearing static on her FM and AM radio stations.
Did you have to replace the entire wiring? How hard was it to do? I'm thinking about fixing this it for her
