has anyone ever heard of arc audio? supposedly he's the founder of zapco. any word on these amps? or how about brax or something like that?

 

never heard of those amps....but sometimes these "not-very-publicized" brands can be very good (and expensive)!!!

Are you sure you aren't thinking about Brax? ARC is an american company, or so I though. Brax is a German company and make amps in that range.

ARC is also supposed to be excellent. http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/ has a large ARC following. You may want to look there for more info.

Brax makes some amazing stuff. If you want Brax quality but not the highest price tag, I suggest their other brand, Helix Precision.

I have a Brax X2000 and I love it!! It is a beautiful piece of equipment and I love it. If you can afford to get it, I'd say do it!!! You won't be dissapointed in either the sound or the quality of thier equipment.
