Another iPod question - 05 TSX

After reading some documentation from dension's website about the icelink adapter, I have a question.

In a 05 TSX non-navi, remember XM radio is factory installed. Does the icelink, shond adapter combination disable the satellite radio? Installation looks easy with the port underneath the HU. What I need to know is if that port is available in the 05 or is the xm satellite radio taking it up. I'd gladly trade xm for iPod, especially before I have to start paying for the subscription. Dension's website says it will disable xm radio, but I didn't know what year they were talking about.

Anybody with some info, I'd appreciate it. Later!

In the '05, does the XM come in on the AUX input? I beleive that it does... and in that case, I don't think that anyone's firmware in their adapter supports multiple devices on the same input.

THere is logic about one turning on and the other being forced off that doesn't seem to ork - humperdood tried it.

It could be retained if you took the AUX in cable and modified it so that it worked with a source switcher like the PAC or Soundgate.

I thought for '05 the XM was integrated into the HU which would leave the AUX port available. On '04 the XM was not integrated so the port was needed.

I guess I'll take the middle storage cabinet out and take a look! Let you know what I find.

I have an 04 TSX non-nav and I want to integrate my MP3 player also.
I took the center storage bin out today to see where to connect wires, but I couldn't see any holes or wire inputs.

Where am I supposed to connect my MP3 player?

You will need a mirror to look up towards the head unit once the bin is removed (see pictures here ). I take it you already have the SHOND converter, correct?

I don't yet have the SHOND converter.
Where can I get one and how much?
I noticed the link that you gave me was a TSX with navigation, I don't have navigation. Will I be using the same procedures?

Thanks

Yes, everything will be the same minus the cable splicing. It will be easier for you to do.

Actually, he just needs the SHOND3, not the entire IceLink.
