another happy DX6 install
another happy DX6 install
Just finished slapping the DX6s in the front doors of my car.
Yes... big difference. I did the mods and terminations explained in the forum, plus added some dynamat.
I listened to a burned Led Zeppelin CD before and after the install.
There are a lot of mids I didn't hear before. Some of the tom toms sound like they're "right there"... when I didn't notice them before. Snare is greatly improved. I could even hear the slight inherent hiss of analog recording. There definitely is a lot more there.
So, the highs are crisp, the mids almost come up to meet the highs, but I feel a lack of bass.... some of the b-hoes in the back doors provide a little...
Good thing I just got an RF amp and some wire. I found the Kicker sub everyone says that'll almost drop right in for about $104... maybe I'll build a box for the house surround with the extra Kicker. I'm not looking for slamming bass. Just some bottom.
oh.. and like I mentioned elsewhere, I did lose my "auto" function of my driver's window... still works but no "auto".

Glad to hear that you're happy about the easy upgrade.
In case no one else has told you how to reset the AUTO drivers window.
With the key on, ROLL THE WINDOW ALL THE WAY DOWN... THEN PULL UP ON THE WINDOW WHILE HOLDING THE SWITCH IN THE UP POSITION THE ENTIRE TIME THAT THE WINDOW IS MOVING... KEEP HOLDING THE SWITCH IN THE UP POSITION FOR ANOTHER 10 SECONDS AFTER THE WINDOW REACHES THE TOP, AND YOU SHOULD HAVE IT RESET...
It will now work normal again. This happens ANY time that you disconnect the battery... The procedure is also in the owners manual
Good Luck!
