amps+subs

I'm looking for a good amp that'll put out a good amount of power to a pair of subs that put out a STUPID amount of bass for rap, jungle, breaks, and other bass-heavy music......right now I'm looking at the Rockford Fosgate Power 800.4 amp and a JL HO212R-W3 (http://www.jlaudio.com/enclosures/ho212r.html)
........the cheapest I saw the amp (so far) online was $480 before shipping....and for the JL: I can't find a store that sells it

So, is there anything better for the money or is this a good combo? And don't tell me that everybody goes for Rockford an JL because I already know......I'm new to this area of cars so I'm still "dumb" when it comes to car audio.

i got a similar setup, but with a little less power, all for $900 installed. im not sure about the 12's in the ho, cause i'm not sure how they'd fit. my 10's in the ho fit pretty snug. where do you live, cause if it's anywhere near the bay area, i know a place that sells them, and will give you a good deal.

Re: amps+subs

aight go with the crossfire amps and subs. it's muddy but dayam it produces alot of bass. If you want proof and live in orange county I prove it. I'm more for SQ Almost forgot got with the BMF 12 inch crossfire and 1000 watt crossfire.

Hi people!

How do you like your Fosgate amp? I'm in the market for a 4 channel amp with 100W per channel. My main concern is a good and clean amp and one that I can attach a remote gains knob.

I am considering the Punch Power 800.4, the PPI 4100. Do you know of some other quality amps like these? Have you heard anything good or bad about Orian amps?

Thanks! I appreciate any feedback.

Believe it or not I like the new class D JBL amps. They are underrated too. I know the reputation for JBL is not great and some will still argue but I bought the 1200 watt one. Was tested at 1368 watts. I know you wont believe me though. Its very nice. I picked it up brand new in the box (probaly hot off the truck like in fast and the furious) for around $400. I see the 600 watt version of this amp all the time in circuit city for $500. I feel the deal was awesome. Did I say class D ?

That is a real nice system your trying to put together. I have liked the HO box for a long time. Right now i have 2 12 infiniti kappas. I am waiting for the next midnight sale at my local audo shop. Last time they droped it to about $500. They only have like 2 a year though. Its worth the wait for that price though.

I was told by someone that the HO box with the 12s would not fit in the TLs, only the 10s. Tell me if it fits.

that's what i was trying to warn someone else, cause my 10's barely fit in the back space. if you want 2 12's, you gotta go custom or get a prowedge or something.

2 JL 12 W7's take up minimal airspace and run that with a MMATS Class D amp or the new JL Class D amp and you're gold!
