Amp problems and suggestions / TROUBLESHOOT!!!!

alrite so with the help of dark inspire my entire car is wired up, and for some reason my amp is not powering. at first i thoght it was ground so i sanded off the section and mounted it. the power cables are securely in the amp, along with the battery. all the wires behind the aftermarket HU are connected.

is there anything else i should check??

im started to think my amp is busted, so is there any suggestions you guys might have....the subs are 350 watts and maybe some new speakers in the future. so anything between 500-1000 amps should be good im guessing.

any suggestions on a new amp? right now im looking at this sony xplod because its cheap and i dont got much money to spend. please dont suggest 500 dollar JL amps.

should i get 2 channel or 4 channel....?

the inline fuse is the one under the hood, on the pwer wire.

The other fuses on the amp are on the side. You have two of em, pull them out and see if any are blown.

A easy way to check to see if your amp is working is to ask a friend who has a functional system to swap amps real quick and see if yours works.. If you do then this would be a quick and easy check to do first..

SKIP the wires, check ALL fuses first. You can check the wires after the fact with a voltmeter..

I assume the radio is working and fully functional..

Check the fuses on the amp..
Check the inline fuse by the battery..
Check the fuses under the dash..
Check the fuses by the passenger door jam.. I have a 2nd Gen CL and they are there, not sure what Gen TL you have or if they are there for your car..

Refer to owners manual first to make sure you know where all your fuses are..

buy one of those test lights fromyour local autoparts store. shouldn't cost more than $5. It looks sorta like a screwdriver with a lightbulb on the inside and a wire coming off the end.

Have you tried testing for voltage with a multimeter? You need to get a multimeter and test the + and - points where the wires mount to your amp. If you have 12v there get a little jumper and jump the 12v from the power in to the remote wire input on the amp. You should at least get the light to come on. If no light comes on and the amp fuse is good and the inline fuse is good.........your amp is toast.
