Amp mounting - 04 TSX

Hope you guys can help me out. I am looking to mount an amp in the trunk of my 04 TSX. I saw a picture here showing the amp and a processor laying on the floor of the trunk, against the back seat. There was also a surround that matched the rest of the trunk. This allowed for the seats to be folded down and usable and allow access to the spare tire. Very low profile.

Thanks

Canuck

I mounted my amp to the roof of the trunk, next to the dvd unit. Cut up an old computer case to make the mount out of and then used self-tapping screws to secure it. Not sure how big your amp is, but if its small enough, I would go this route.

Thanks intensity2x. How did you get around all the crap(speakers, tension rods) on the rear deck to mount the amp? Looks good.

Hmm, thats a good question lol. I did this a while ago. Only thing that would potentially be in the way are the torsion springs for the trunk lid. Best bet is to hold your amp up there and look around, see if you can position it well, if anything is in the way, close and open the trunk while youre inside to see how the bars move, etc. Thats what I did. Speakers are off to the sides, no where near my amp. Heres another pic:

intensity2x - do you experience any rattling from your amp rack thing? It looks like a real good way to utilize our small trunks, but I'm imagining that thing will rattle when you really begin to move some air back there.

Here's mine

Bout 5 hours of DIY work, and like 10 hours of planning. Not your average 3000$ custom system install, but I'm happy with it, only ~50$ of materials and a lot of time and headache.

I can still get to the spare tire, just gotta remove the (350z) cargo net

Nope, doesn't rattle at all. I put e-dead (or whatever it is) on the entire bottom of the mount (under the amp) and on all the contact surfaces, especially the surfaces that got screwed. I never had a killer system, the JL's in the pic were running at 220W and now I have a single IDQ 10 running at 440W. I now have some rattles from the 3rd seatbelt holder and from something else inside the rear shelf, but nothing from the mount or amp.
