Exclamation AMP installation and LOC

Hey guys I was wonderin if anyone could help me out. I'm installing a MTX amp with an alpine type R sub. Well the only problems i'm running in to is how to install the LOC and where to place the REMote start line for the amp. If anyone could help me out by posting pictures, so i can have a general idea and some instructions. Thanks !

Take apart the door to the fuse on the driver side, and take off the pannel under the steering wheel. There's only a single screw holding it in place on the side where the fuses are. If you poke your head in and look at the back of the fuse pannel you'll see a few openings with male pins that look like the + connectors on most speakers. They're numbered. I connected my remote to #1 using a female speaker connector. It's a switched power connector, so when the car is on, so is the amp. When you shut off the car, the amp shuts off too. This was the easiest connection point and required to splicing of other cables. There's a pic of what it looks like somewhere on this forum. I saw it a few weeks ago, but I forgot where it was. Hope that helps...

the LOC u need to tap the rear speakers... and the remote wire i would either tap the 12+V switch behind the radio or get a "add a fuse" and go through your fusebox like prinze said..

I agree, if you're just adding a sub, you're probably better off just with LOCs. But running the remote line from the fusebox is still a pain. Surely there's some other connection that can be used. What about the "fm amp" I've seen people post about?

No one has shown definitively where there is a good remote turn on wire in the turnk. I looked for it with a multimeter a few times, but you also need a friend to turn the car on and off to really check, so its kind of a pain. I got tired of looking and just ran mine all the way down the cabin to the cig lighter.

And regardless of how necessary the LOC is, it will make your installation even easier (and better) if you use one, so I suggest getting it. Mine was only like $15 from CC.
