Question Amp Installation, and EQ bypass.

okay guys, just simply cannot stand the crappy blose system in my 2000TL any longer..

Here's what i wanna do for now..

- Replace all 4 blose speakers
- keep the factory HU
- bypass the EQ
- install 4 channel amp.
- maybe adding a sub in the future.. (not in the plans at the moment)

I have some polk and infinity speakers and a rockford 600a4 amp from my system that i had installed into my accord. I've taken that out and gonna try to put it into the TL.

This is going to take some time because i'm kinda busy nowadayz. But i'm going to work on it a little piece at a time.. I plan to:

~ First, work on bypassing the EQ.

~ Second, installing a couple of 6.5" speakers in the front door.

~ Thirdly, installing an amp.

So, as far as the the EQ bypass? i've read most of the posts by southbound and iggy regarding this topic. You simply connect wires 1 to 3 (left EQ output to input) and 7 to 9 (right EQ output to input)??? Does anything need to be done for the COMMON or the SUM leads on the harness??? And what about the inputs to the EQ? Is grounding them the best thing to do?

thanks in advance for the help..

Sorry that no one is replying to your post. Problem is, not very many have gone this route that you are wanting. Alot of us audio nuts replaced the head unit. Especially since Metra came out with the famous kit. I hope you do get the answers you need.

The forum is not that dead, just a little slow.

Try this:
Bypass shcematic

Total of three cuts:B1-B3, B7-B9, B4-B8

hope this helps.
The hardest part is getting the HU out, but once you've done that it's a piece o' cake
