amp install ?'s HELP

i got an amp to install in my 97 cl and a 12' sub. To hook up the amp what all do i need to do and how easy is it. do i need to take the cd player out and hook it up in the back of it or can i just add it on to the stock amp in the truck. i have heard there are ways of doing that but if someone could just give me some instructions or things i willl need , i would appreciate.

I'm not sure if you have a Bose system or anything, but if your head unit is stock then you will need a Line Out Converter. If your factory speakers have separate amps, then this LOC can take the signal before the amp and condition it to go into your sub amp. If your speakers are run off the amp in the deck, then you will still need the LOC to drop the signal down to a useable level for your sub amp. Keep in mind that your head unit, if a Bose, may be sending a crossed over signal to your speakers and you might not get the lows you want to your sub.

I recently installed the sub and amp from my previous car. I have a 97 3.0 with the Bose system. I just tapped into a signal from the headunit, just before the factory amp. I soldered RCA plugs at this point and used this as input to the new amp. I didn't do anything with signal levels.

It sounds OK, but I still need to install my Boston's in the rest of the car.

I did the same thing with my 2nd gen and it sounded great with some ground loop isolators. Hurry with the Boston's Canuck!
