I don't have any experience with those exact amps. Alpine does have a pretty good reputation for the amps they build. I know a friend that has a Kenwood Excelon amp and deck and he seems to like them. Some other amps to look at are the JBL 1200.1 for the sub as that is a pretty popular, inexpensive amp for subs. JL amps are also pretty highly regarded and aren't too expensive. Those are the amps I see recommended most often but I am sure there are a lot of other good amps comparable to what you are looking at.

I have an excelon X650D .. it's a beaut gobs of power. a stunning amp for a non basshead as it is 5 channels. power speakers AND sub. very clean and it pushes my alpine type S 12" nicely. even the installer was shocked that a type S can give out that much clean bass. the rest of the channels power my focals and they are pristinely clear. it gets a little warm after a few hours .. but it holds nicely without cutting out.

btw.. stop looking at the max figures. they're practically useless. match RMS power.
