Post Am I alone in liking this soundsystem?

Personally, I'm quite happy with this stock system. It has its flaws, but a quality recording comes through the speakers very nicely. The power's more than adequate, and distortion (base on my experience) has been nill.

Although I may be in a minority on this message board, I'm actually quite happy with this stereo.

As Micheal Jackson once said.. "You are not alone.."

I think the stock system sounds great. It could use a touch more base... but compared to other cars, it is badass!!

The only problem I have had is that when I put in a CD with alot of bass on it, the rear subwoofer rattles alot, all other songs, everything seems fine.

Vin says 2001, but it's really a 2000 with an upgraded cupholder!!

I kept the Bose unit as well; I think it sounded great. All I did was just add another amp and a small subwoofer to get more bass.

all i added was some tweet's i think it sounds great except i wish the radio volume was a little louder. a cd sounds ok though and it usually has enough bass for me. i have had over 150 db for the last 10 or so years and my ears could use a break! also i love having enough trunk space to take anything i may need to carry back there. the other day i brought home a 10 foot long PVC pipe to build sub boxes with. the thing slid right through the ski pass through and rested on the dash and i was still able to close the trunk!

How it sounds is relative of course, it kicks ass compared to the sound system in my buddy's Mazda Protege, but totally sucks compared to the Pioneer in my Lexus RX300.

Some of the problems I noticed are that it starts clipping at higher volume which indicates that the amp is a cheap quality low current variety, bass is very weak and sound clarity is marginal.

Just jump into a new Lexus and hear the Mark Levinson system and you'll be able to check out the difference.
