Alternator Whine?
Hello I have a 98 ACURA 2.3CL and I'm having problems with alternator whine. I have 0/1 gauge power running on the left side of the car and rcas on the right side of the car, and also a set of 12 gauge speaker wires on each side of the car(for components). I have my two amps grounded using 0/1 on the piece of metal right above where the trunk pass thru is and I am getting noise. It is secured with bolts and washers so I would figure its a tight ground. ANyone recommend anything to get rid of the alternator whine?(better ground? where?)
thanks

i got the PAC ground loop things. they're a little less bulky than the ones from radio shack but i'm sure they work the same way. had to get 2 of them for my 4 channel amp. but now, no more alternator noise. i also moved my ground connection just to make sure. i grounded both my main amp and amp for the sub on the same grounding point and made sure i srcaped all the paint off with coarse sand paper.....just to get a good clean ground. also, i didn't notice any sound difference as far as quality with or without the ground loop isolators....except there's no more annoying alternator noise. thanks for the help, silverknight!!

George, no problem man .. just ask away if you have any question. If I know, I'll talk if not, I'll shut.
BTW, I'm still waiting for an explaination regarding how ground loop isolator "wont solve the problem, just cover-up".
