Alternator Whine

anyone have an suggestions on how to get rid of it ? When I accelerate heavily, I can hear it. What typically causes it? I have an aftermarket system and I bypass'd the stock EQ. Is it typically a bad ground on your amps? Exposed wires? Where should I start looking?

Brian

PS. BTW, The search function here sucks since the website's been updated. Someone help... I can't find anything.

good luck, it could me any of those that you said or something else. before you rip apart your car, go to radio shack and buy a ground loop isolator. it will have a set of RCA inputs and outputs. you place it inline with your amps, and it will filter out the noise - usually. its an easy start.
