Alternator noise

I have this alternator whine every time I have the radio on at any volume. What can I do to get rid of it? This is on the factory HU btw.

What speakers does the whine come from? What amp is installed, and are there any other amps in the car that are not having the sound? As much specific info as possible....

Brian, make sure your ground is secure & on bare metal. Also, make sure your RCA cables and/or speaker wires are not running near the power or ground cable. That should cure the problem

on my g/f's tl she had a whine also. i had checked the ground and power and rca's, the usual. decent rca's make a difference. but that was not the problem. this amp that we had purchased used had or still has ( b/c the amp is out of the car) the whining noise. what i did was disconnect each amp and crossover and 1 by 1 reconnect and turn on the car. now make sure u turn off car when connecting and start after the connection. i traced it to the amp. the way i found it was i turned off the gain and restarted the car. no noise, turned up the gain slowly and then i started to get some noise, even at the slightest increase in gain. so what i believe is that the soldering may be brittle or just older and i still ahve to get it repaired. check the amps and x-over
