Alternator

I am planning on getting one of those high power alternators off of ebay the one that at 1800 RPM will give me 180 watts, will this help dimming lights and what not due to electronic upgrades?

Yeah it'll work. How much are they? I bought 1 from 4alterstart.com for $299, but it has a lifetime warranty.

yea its the same one..

capacitors are not for resolving long term voltage issues, they are for times when the current is drawn so rapidly that there would be a voltage drop if no capacitor was in the circut. with any subwoofer setup i would recommend a capacitor, but its not really nessasary untill you start drawing huge ammounts of current.

it still depends, there can stil be momentairt voltage drops caused by peaks of bass in your music that a capacitor would help smooth out... the issue with capacitors is how close they are to the amp.

so yes a capicitor would still be useful, but you prolly wont miss having one unlesss you are pushing a lot of power, or havea very discerning ear
