have you tried going to alpines website and looking under the support menu? Maybe you can send it back to them and have it fixed.

Also, where did you buy it from? Maybe they can fix it for you.

I'll try checking with Alpine, thanks for the idea...
Someone owed me money and they gave it to me for part of the debt.

IF you want to take a ride to Jersey, I can send it out for you - or you could package it up and ship it to me and I can send it out.

Do you have an estimate on how much this would cost?

I sent in a cda 7998 to alpine 2 months ago, they still haven't fixed it. They aren't exactly speedy.

Shops usually don't repair, but they usually ahve someone who does.

No oen can estimate that until they crack it open.

if you have a tweeter or hifi take it to them. i had a HU that was acting the fool and i brought it to tweeter. although i didn't buy the HU from them they charged me $75 to take a look and then the $75 would go towards the price of the fix. got it back within a week and it is back to normal. i had the alpine 9897 and the thing kept switching off and then turning back on. cost me $150 althogether. the good thing is that they warranty their work. so if something goes wrong with it i can just bring it back and they fix it for free. if they can't fix the problem 3x then you get your money back. can't beat that.
