Alpine MRV-F540 vs JL 300/4
I have the Alpine amp, I was thinking of going with 300/4 instead of the F540. Do you think it's worth it?
I have DLS UP6 (150wrms) components in the front and Eclipse SE8495 (80wrms) 4-way 6x9s in the back. I have a JL 500/1 pushing my sub and I like how it sounds. So I was thinking the maybe the 300/4 could do a better job pushing my speakers.

oh OK.... shows how much I know................ but in all honesty id say if youve already got the Alpine, then use the Alpine............ I mean Ive had 3 V12s (still running 1 now) and ive loved um............ mine were the newer ones except 1 (running MRD-M605, have a MRV-F345 sitting around, and had a MRD-M301), but the quality is nice

jl has a better x-over (12 or 24 db per octave, hi lo or band pass, 50 to 5000 hz crossover points). power is comperable. sq is comperable. unless you are going to actively bi amp your dls speakers with the 300/4, i wouldn't change the amp. jps

no biamping planned, and I have crossovers in my deck 6,12,18,24dB/octave, high pass, low pass filters. I just thought maybe if the JL has better SQ due to low THD, high damping factor and bigger S/N ratio it might be worth it. But if it's comparable... I think I'll leave it alone then. Thanks for your input
