Does anyone know when we will be able to purchase faceplates for new HU's? If they won't be made, how would I go about building one myself?

Also, does anyone have experience with the Alpine CDA-9897 or.. CDA-7998? I like the 1.3 din appearance.. but not sure i can afford the 7998 especially since it will require an amp as well. The screen does look more attractive though.

Give me thoughts, I'm trying to save up whatever i'll have left at the end of the month and put it towards a new HU.

Scoshe may be coming out with one soon, but i doubt it will give you a very flush factory installed look. For a better solution,

I just ordered that Alpine Unit. The one that flips out. The audio place here in town is gonna make a face plate for me so i will post pics when its done.

 

I'm bitter.. I have YET to see an audio shop hook up my faceplate decently .. I've been through two so far. I'll just leave it well enough alone for now and make my own or wait for a kit to 'hopefully' materialize.

the whole issue with me is .. I dont' like the wood look .. otherwise, I would really appreciate the job in 2002acuraTL's car.

anyway, to the topic at hand. I think and I've read that the alpine head units are the best for playing mp3s. I'd love to hook up one but I dont feel like changing out my current one. oh well.
