i noticed that when i insert a cd in my friend's pioneer head unit it displays the name of the cd and what not. but when i put a cd in my alpine it comes up no title. is there something wrong with my headunit or is there a setting i am missing? thanks

 

Is it the same CD?

Some CDs have CD Text titles and some don't...

 

yeah it is the same cd. basically any cd that i put in my alpine doesn't come with the cd text on the display. even the radio stations don't come up. anyone else have the 9835 and are able to get the cd text? was messing around with the hu during lunch break and still didn't find any settings for it.

 

My Alpine reads some of my CD's.

There may be different formats read by the two.
The only way to find out if yours is broken or if alpine can read, is to take that CD to a audio store and put it in (any) Alpine.

 

My 9835 read some cd's I guess, it always puzzled me tho. Cant wait to put it in my TSX I miss the SQ.
