Alarm wiring question.

There are some outputs on my aftermarket alarm (Compustar if that makes a difference) that go to my stock alarm. My question is if I hook these up, does that mean that if I arm my alarm it will also arm the factory alarm? Does that also mean that I don't have to hook up the alarm trigger to the door lock and unlock (since that's taken care of my the factory alarm). Thank you.

Aaron,
I don't recall CompuStar has those outputs except the OEM bypass. Anyway, here is what I did to my CompuStart. I wired my previous Compustar (lock, unlock, trunk open outputs) directly to the receiver of stock alarm. Everytime I arm/disarm the CompuStar, the stock alarm also get armed/disarmed. However, I had to connect the Compustar sensing inputs (trigger inputs) to the stock wires. That way, if anything is triggered, both alarms will off. Otherwise, only the stock alarm would go off.

As always, thanks for your help. I started installing this ages ago, but pulled it out since I didn't have time. How come you got rid of the compustar?

I didn't get rid of it. It died on me. I got an older model used CompuStar to replace it.

THe ACura alarms are designed to arm and disarm on lock/unlock. When I installed mine, the wires I tapped for the locks, armed and disarmed the factory alarm. At the same time, there was a factory disarm wire from teh aftermarket alarm for disarming the factory alarm on remote start.
