I have an 1998 3.0 CL. Alarm goes off randomly now and then when car is locked. If I remove the fuse, car wont start. Wondering if I can disable the alarm at the source. Anyone know how to fix or how to disable it?

 

The issue can be anything from a too sensitive shock sensor, to an electrical fault in the vehicle which is letting off the alarm, to a defective alarm unit itself. Best betwould be to take it to a pro. and have it checked out.

 

Can also be your key fob dying, change it's battery, but also check the contacts on your doors, and hood

 

I didn't even realize our cars had shock sensors... What do you have to do to set them off?

Sometimes, the hood contacts can get dirty. Try cleaning the hood latch with some simple green, a brush and rinse it off. Then spray the assembly with some WD-40 and work the hood up and down a few times. See if that helps.

Far from a expert on the make and model but I know bad door actuators can also be a result of the alarm going off. Common problem in the second gen Legend 1991-1995.
