aftermarket headunit

I have a 2002 acura tl. Im gonna get a pioneer deh-3100 headunit. I was looking though the forms and Ive found people say that the amp and sub wont work with the new headunit without lots of rewireing and spliceing. Ive also seen people say that the metra wire cable will allow the amp and sub to be used. Which is it?

You really need to read the DIY/FAQ/Info thread..

Buy your standard Metra harness for your car and the amp will work as I already stated and you already asked. Then look in the DIY/FAQ/Info thread to find out how to get the sub to work with your aftermarket headunit.

Like Jonesi said, you need to check out the diy. There are 2 ways to do it: Wire it up directly behind the headunit, or wire it directly to the amp behing the back seat. I chose to wire it behind the headunit b/c I didn't want to bother with taking out the backseat. It took me about an hr to get everything done. Its simple and definitely worth it. I rode around with my sub disconnected for almost a yr before I decided to stop being lazy and do the job. Goodluck........
