Question After Market Stereo -- For Navigation in TL

Ok - so my dad just bought the NEW TL --
The dealer I guess kinda screwed him a little by not letting him know that the car didn't come with a factory navigation standard. He looked inside and saw the digital screen and figured it was the Navi. So, now he wants to get an aftermarket Navigation from Alpine and wants to know if there are any kits made for the fit.

Also, can this be done??

Thanks for any help.

To make it look like the factory Navi: Nope, it can't be done.

Actually, anything can be done, you would need a donnor car for starters, and an expert to perform the install. FYI, it was done on a 2002 a year or so back.

But let's back up here for a second, once your Dad figured out the car was non-navi, no deal! He should of left the car on the lot and started making a new deal on a navi car.

Oh, by the way, it would cost some $5,000+ to get the navi upgraded as mentioned in the above.

if he had a donor car with navi, why wouldn't he just drive the donor car then?

or...

If your hell bent on navigation why not just spend about 800 dollars and get this... www.tomtom.com -the go unit. It willbe out next month. Ive seen the software in person...its better than the alpine navigation. Although not integrated it would fit nicely right where the clock is and you could take it from car to car if u wanted.
