Adding Subwoofers

I have a 2002 TL Type S .... I read the DIY of hooking up the aftermarket amp and the subs... But there are a few things I'm planning to use that are different from the write..

I have a lanzar 1200 watt 2 channel amp and a box with 2 MTX Thunder 5500 12s.... And a Line Out Conveter.

Question here is ... How do I hook up my amp in conjuction to my subs.?.. I know my subs can handle 2 ohms but I'm confused if things will work since there was only OEM sub and a 1 ohm amp.
In general I'm asking will taking the mono signal through the LOC ( wires twisted ) mess up my subs & is the remote sign strong enough to keep the amp on... I read it's 9 volts ... I think aftermarket HU gives 12..

I'm scared I might ruin my amp or my subs...

Also I'll be powering straight from the battery with a Amp + Cap Kit.. Thanks..

Your sub's voice coil configuration will ultimately determine the amps load so your amp just has to be rated for it. A LOC's primary function is to take a high level or balanced signal and convert it into a low level (RCA) signal suitable for your amp.
