Adding New HU and Can't Get Everything to Work

Ok so here's the deal. I bought a new HU (JVC KD-AVX2). I want to use it to push my speakers. But I can’t figure out how to bypass the factory amp so I do not need to use it.

When all plugs are plugged in where they originally were (except the one from factory HU to New HU) I've gotten the FM to work then when I try a cd the cd shows it's playing but no sound coming out . So I unplugged the plugs going to the amp but when I do that the New HU turns on but no sounds come out even on FM.

So in a nutshell I would like to not use the factory amp and just use the New HU and speakers. I've looked al over for some picturs and diagrams but the one I’ve found haven't really helped any.

I'm also trying to keep the back lighting of the A/C controls working even thought the plug in the back is now going to the New HU. I figured splitting the illumination wire and some how fixing it to he corresponding spot behind the factory HU could work.

So you get sound through FM radio, but you get no sound with the CD player?
That's pretty strange.

Break down your setup a little more.
1) You're not using the Factory HU, and you're not using the factory amp, correct?
2) I'm assuming, you're going from the JVC deck to your amp via RCA, then after that, how are the speakers connected to the amp? Where did you splice into their signal?

ok the way i had it when only the fm worked was the jvc HU threw the acura harness adapter then i beleave that goes threw the factory amp to the speakers. what i want to do is not use the factory amp at all and use the JVC HU built in amp to push the speakers for right now. down the line i may get some amp(s) for my speakers when i install a sub later on.

i tryed unplugging the plugs behind the amp and leave them unplugged (but nothing worked all i got was power and no sound at all) from what i've seen in diagrams those two have to be conected some how wether threw the amp or splicing the wires and making the go threw each other w/o the amp
