It appears that I need to install a AUXHOND3 to get an AUX input. Unless I missed it - nowhere in the threads did it say whether it is a active or a passive unit, i.e. if it also need to be connected to the 12V. Would someone with the same install please verify?

The AUXHOND3 pictures on the threads also showed a round connector on the same side as the RCA jacks - what is that connector for?

My application is for a 8Gb Sony Walkman - all the posts were for IPOD and IPOD USB port cable for charging the unit - is there a cable available for the Walkman's USB port?

 

You would think there would be more of a demand for a device that does what you want... is there anyone that can shine light on this...
Is there a way to add an aux port so i can connect a typical mp3 player using the 1/8 port

 

I have the soundgate aux input adapter (which I believe you're talking about) and I ran the RCAs into the armrest bin, then bought a unit to plug into the cigarette lighter in the armrest that charges the iPod and connects it to the aux input with one cable.

I'm sure there is a similar solution available for your Sony player
