Adding an Alpine amp

How easy would it be to add an Alpine amp to the sound system? The one I have would only allow 4 of the 6 speakers, bt it would be nice to add it to the middle and back, or maybe the fron and back if the fronts can handle it... Can't I just plug the speakers intot he amp, and the amp outlet into the system? Thanks

dlp,

Scalbert, I believe did an installation just like you mentioned. He hooked the Amp in line with the existing Bose Amp; that is the outputs from the Bose Amp goes to the inputs of the Aftermarket Amp, and the output of that amp goes to the speakers.

I believe it's on the right side of the trunk -- passenger-- behind the right side trim panel. There should be 3 or 4 mounting bolts holding the amp.

Is there any noise in the system if you added another amp to the bose amp? And how are you runnig the power wire and the RCA's... Cause i was thinking about adding a sub to the current system. Has anyone done it yet?

you can add a sub pretty easy by tapping into the 2 rear speakers. Only problem is you need to cut. I hate cutting . But i will and does work.

Do you have to get a specific kind of amp? How much watts can our bose speakers handle? I dont want to blow them

I ran the power wire from the battery and the remote wire from the stock amp so the sub amp turns on with the stereo.

Here are the wire schematics for the amp and stock head unit. They make things a lot more flexible...

To get access to stock amp you must move away the trunk carpeting on the passenger side. To do this you must remove the black platic piece right in the middle of the locking mechanism, then remove (plastic) screw on the sides of the trunk. Then bend it away. It will be about middle of the right side of the trunk. Once your there it is pretty easy to figure out.

Thanks LarryB!!
I found it. One more question if you don't mind. I have the schematics and info on the wires that connect to the amp. I can just solder RCA connectors onto the audio signal wires coming from the deck and we're all set to plug into an amp, right?? It seems like this would be the case but I just want to be sure.

Thanks!
