Acustics question time
There is much to be said about a sub enclosure and how it faces, so I want to hear everyone's opinion on the following options:
1 or 2 12's in a sealed box
1 or 2 12's in a ported box
1 10 in a ported box that the sub and port fire directly into the cabin
1 10 in a sealed box that fires directly into the cabin
and here are the limiting factors:
1. Money: I am looking to spend $650 on the sub and amp, and currently I have chosen one 10" Audiobahn and an Audiobahn amp (go to www.etronics.com for great prices)
2. I want SQ, but I dont want some boom
3. I need access to my spare tire
4. Installation complication: firing a ported box into the cabin isnt easy, nor is a sealed when there is limited space.
Now my theory is fire the sub into the cabin = good SQ, and by default decent SPL, but if I am way off base here or you think the other solutions are better let me know.
Thanks!
