About a week and a half ago I purchased a 2003 Acura TL Type S from a Used car dealership through a private seller. Anyways when I received the car and I was testing everything out I realized the Navigation kept requesting a pin. I could do nothing with the navigation system at all. After about a week I took the car back to the dealership and from there the dealers contacted the nearest local Acura dealership to discuss the navigation system. They requested the serial number which we had but then the dealership informed us the navigation system installed in the car is not the one that was built into it. The previous owner has updated the car with a newer system. Now here's the problem with contacting the previous owner. He lives over 500 miles away and the dealership no longer has any contact with him. The moral of this story is there anyway to manually reset the navigation system or decode it?

 

Is the updated system an OEM Acura system, or is it an aftermarket system?
